One top headline in the AI space to know:
🇬🇧 The UK's AI Power Play
As the United States (and most of the world) wrestles with the unfolding AI revolution, the UK took some major strides forward on Monday.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced that AI heavyweights Google DeepMind, OpenAI, and Anthropic have all agreed to grant the UK early access to their AI models — as part of a strategy to ensure the safe and secure deployment of AI in the country.
The news came during London Tech Week, with Sunak seemingly embracing the potential of AI — while also emphasizing the need for a global task force to ensure responsible use and governance.
A thread highlighting some of the UK’s initiatives:
AI is the defining technology of our time and we have a clear strategy to develop it in a safe way that will benefit everyone in the UK.
Here’s what that looks like 👇

It's a critical move for the UK, given the transformative potential of harnessing the emerging technology. While it remains uncertain what "early or priority access" exactly means, it certainly signals a proactive stance by the UK in harnessing AI's promise while understanding its risks.
The question is — will the rest of the world follow suit?
